Biography: On the Court Denmark’s Caroline Wozniacki made her pro debut in 2005 just eight days after her 15th birthday and made her first top 100 finish in 2007, reaching the second round of Wimbledon.
In 2008, she enjoyed her first three Tour singles titles, the first Danish woman to ever win any singles event on tour. She reached the fourth round four times in 2008, including at the Australian Open and the US Open.
She rose even higher in 2009, finishing the season at No. 4 and winning three more singles titles. She became the first Danish player, male or female, to reach the final of a Grand Slam singles event, losing to Kim Clijsters.
In 2010, she reached the fourth round of the Australian Open and then made the quarterfinals of the French Open. She took over the No. 1 ranking in the world in September, despite not winning a single Grand Slam event. She fell in the semifinals at the US Open but still ended the year No. 1, the first Danish woman to ever do so.
